Some movies and tv shows just make me want to knit. In fact, handknits are sometimes reason enough for me to watch.
The tv show Call the Midwife is a favorite… so many fake babies in real mid-century hand-knits! I love how children’s knits haven’t really changed that much since then—really makes me feel connected to the past in a way that’s so nice. Another favorite is the WWII-era movie The Edge of Love, starring Keira Knightley and Sienna Miller. Without getting into boring plot details (I didn’t necessarily like this movie), most of it takes place in the remote Welsh countryside, and the knits are gorgeous. Check these out:
Actually, I’m not sure if these sweaters make me want to knit… or just go to Anthro!
